Bottle of Hope
More Than Water. A Movement of Hope.
Because water meets a basic human need. We believe hope should too.
A Bottle of Hope is a mission of the C_Quebe Foundation created to turn a simple act of kindness into a life-changing moment of connection.
Every bottle we share is more than water. It is an opportunity to remind someone they matter, they belong, and they never have to heal alone.
After losing my son, Christopher Cesar Carrera, to suicide, I searched for healing and discovered that genuine connection has the power to change lives. While reading Christopher's journals after his passing, I found that he called himself C_Quebe. I believe he left us more than a name. He left us a purpose.
Our mission is simple:
To create moments where people feel seen.
To create conversations that replace silence.
To build a community where no one has to face life's hardest moments alone.
Every Bottle of Hope carries us one step closer to our vision of creating a Healing Home overlooking the ocean, a place where individuals and families navigating grief, trauma, mental health challenges, addiction, and life's most difficult moments will find peace, connection, compassion, and belonging.
A place where every person is welcomed with these words:
Welcome home.
You don't have to earn your place here.
Before healing begins... you belong.
We believe healing should never depend on someone's financial circumstances.
Resources should never be the reason someone does not heal.
Whether you receive a Bottle of Hope, become a Hope Builder, volunteer, partner with our mission, or simply share our story, you become part of something much bigger than a bottle of water.
You become part of a movement that believes every act of kindness has the power to change a life.
Together, we're not just sharing water.
We're building belonging.
No one should have to heal alone.
Community
Yesterday was never about handing out bottles of water.
It was about handing out hope.
As I offered a woman a Bottle of Hope, we started talking.
Then she shared something I'll never forget.
She told me her husband had attempted suicide.
For a moment...
The bottle disappeared.
The donation disappeared.
Everything else disappeared.
What remained...
...was human connection.
That's why A Bottle of Hope exists.
Because water meets a basic human need. We believe hope should too.
A bottle of water became permission for someone to share their story.
To be heard.
To know someone cared.
Yesterday reminded me that people are carrying battles we cannot see.
The smile at the grocery store.
The person standing next to us.
The family walking through the parking lot.
Every one of them may be carrying pain in silence.
That's why we're building this movement.
Not to give away water.
To create moments where people feel safe enough to say...
"This is what I'm carrying."
One conversation won't solve everything.
But one conversation can remind someone they don't have to carry it alone.
That's the future we're building.
A future where resources are never the reason someone does not heal.
A future where every person knows...
You matter.
You belong.
There is hope.
Yesterday, we gave away bottles of water.
But what we really shared was belonging.
